Presets
Baking Powder comes with a small factory bank for Core, its synthesizer. Every preset is a rack, a Core and its effects saved as one JSON file. The bank sits in the browser under Factory: a press loads a preset, and a hover reads its description, its author and their website.
The bank
- Basses Gas, Growl
- Chords Airy, Gentle
- Keys Frost, Organ, Pluto
- Leads Saw, Square, Yellow
- Plucks Classic, Piano
- Sequences Acid Spring, Blood, Dance Floor, Folder, Ibiza, Radar Click, Release
The sequences are Aiyn Zahev's
Every sequencer preset in Core so far is a recreation of a preset by Aiyn Zahev, from Prometheus for Repro-1, his soundset for u-he's Repro-1. He was generous enough to give us permission to recreate them, and each one carries his name and his website inside the app.
Hold one key and Core's step sequencer plays his line, on Core's own oscillators and filters.
They keep his names: Acid Spring, Blood, Dance Floor, Folder, Ibiza, Radar Click and Release.
Core is a different synthesizer, so these are approximations, not copies. The originals are among the 120 presets of Prometheus for Repro-1, 69 of them programmed sequences, at aiynzahev-sounds.com. His YouTube channel and his SoundCloud are the places to hear what he makes.
Your own presets
SAVE on the rack writes a row or the whole rack as a JSON file, and any folder you add to the browser sits beside the factory bank. A preset can carry three more fields, description, author and website, and the app shows them whenever the preset is hovered. If you make sounds for Baking Powder, put your name in them.
