Aiyn Zahev

Aiyn Zahev Sounds has been making soundsets since 2012: presets for synthesizers such as u-he's Repro-1, Spire, Serum, the Access Virus TI and Arturia's JUP-8000, heard on trance records and dance floors and, more and more, in scores for film, television and games. Soundsets of his have been featured by u-he, Arturia and Native Instruments. His own line for it all is "Formed in shadow. Shared with the world. From hidden folders to festival stages."

His generosity

Every sequencer preset in Baking Powder's factory bank so far began as one of Aiyn's presets, from Prometheus for Repro-1, his soundset for u-he's Repro-1: 120 presets, 69 of them programmed sequences. When we asked, he was generous enough to give us permission to recreate some of them in Core, Baking Powder's synthesizer. Acid Spring, Blood, Dance Floor, Folder, Ibiza, Radar Click and Release are his lines under his own names, played by Core's step sequencer from one held key, and each carries his name and his website inside the app.

Core is its own instrument, so the recreations are approximations. The originals, and everything else he makes, are at his site, and he is on YouTube, SoundCloud and Facebook. Thank you, Aiyn.

In the app

Open the browser, unfold Factory and then Sequences, and his name sits beside every preset. Hover one and the readout names him and his website, with a line on the sound. The Presets page lists them with the rest of the bank.
