Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2, 2026
This policy is short because there is not much to tell. It covers the Baking Powder apps for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android, the browser version at play.bakingpowder.app, and this website, bakingpowder.app. All of them are made by Baking Powder LLC ("we", "us").
The apps collect nothing
The apps do not collect any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry, and the apps never send anything anywhere. The only data they touch is your own work. On the desktop and in the browser that means the files you choose to open, import, save and export. On mobile it means the chords and settings you save, which stay inside the app. All of it stays on your device unless you move or share it yourself.
The website
This site has no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no cookies. Our host, Google, logs the IP address of each request to this site and to the browser version in order to serve them and block abuse. It keeps those logs for a few months, and we never look at them.
The one thing we collect is feedback you choose to send: the message you write, your email address if you give it so we can reply, your browser's user agent, and the app and OS version if you came from inside the app. It is stored with Google, emailed to us, and used only to read and answer what you sent. We delete it once it has served its purpose, or within 30 days of you asking.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. Three companies handle things for us, each under its own privacy policy. Google hosts this site, the browser version and the feedback we receive, and runs Google Play (Google's policy). Apple runs the App Store (Apple's policy). Stripe takes card donations on its own site, so we never see card details (Stripe's policy). Crypto donations go to public addresses and tell us nothing about you. We disclose information only if the law requires it.
Your rights
Email contact@bakingpowder.app to ask what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or have it deleted. We honor those requests wherever you live.
The rest
We are in the United States, and feedback you send is processed there by us and by Google, which handles data from Europe under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Baking Powder is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. When this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
