Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Baking Powder LLC ("we," "us") collects and why. It covers both this website (bakingpowder.app) and the Baking Powder macOS app.
The app collects nothing
The Baking Powder app does not collect any personal information. There is no account. It contains no analytics, tracking, or telemetry, and it does not send your projects, presets, audio, or usage anywhere. Everything you make is saved locally on your Mac, and the app only touches the files and folders you explicitly choose.
One thing to know if you use AI Control, the feature that lets an AI app on your Mac edit the open project. It is off until you switch it on. While it is on, the AI app you connected can read and change that project, and a cloud model may send project data to its provider. Baking Powder itself still sends nothing: it makes no outgoing network connections, and the server it runs accepts connections only from your own Mac. The website
The website has no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers, and it sets no cookies. Like any website, our hosting provider (Google) processes the IP address of each request to serve the site and detect abuse, and retains that data for a few months. We never see or use it. Beyond that, the site collects information in exactly one case: when you send us feedback. If you do, we collect the message you write and, only if you choose to provide it, your email address, so we can reply. We also record basic technical context (your browser's user agent, and the app and macOS version if you arrived from within the app). Submissions are stored with Google and emailed to our support inbox, and used solely to read and respond to what you sent.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We rely on three service providers: Google, which hosts the website, stores feedback submissions, and delivers them to our inbox; Apple, which distributes the app through the Mac App Store under Apple's own privacy policy; and Stripe, which handles card donations entirely on its own site under Stripe's privacy policy. We never see your card details. Crypto donations go directly to published addresses and carry no personal information to us. We may disclose information if required to by law.
Cookies
Neither the website nor the app uses cookies or similar tracking technologies. There's nothing to opt out of.
How long we keep it
We keep a feedback submission only as long as we need it to respond and to fix whatever it describes, then delete it. If you'd like yours deleted sooner, email us and we'll remove it within 30 days. Google retains its hosting request logs, including IP addresses, for a few months.
Your choices
Email us at contact@bakingpowder.app anytime to ask what we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or object to our use of your information. We will honor those rights. Contact us to make a request.
Children
Baking Powder isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
International
We're based in the United States, and feedback you submit is processed there by us and by Google. We process it because you chose to send it and asked us to respond. If you're in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you send your feedback directly to us in the United States, and Google handles its processing under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, including its UK and Swiss extensions.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the date above and note any significant changes on the site.
