Common questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Baking Powder is free on the Mac App Store. There are no subscriptions, no paid tiers, and nothing to unlock.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account and no sign in, and the app collects no personal information. Read the privacy policy.
Can I use my own plugins?
No. The synth and all twelve effects are built in. Baking Powder does not host third party plugins of any kind, including Audio Units and VSTs.
Where are my projects stored?
On your Mac. Projects, presets, and audio stay local unless you move or share them. Every save keeps a local checkpoint of the file it replaced.
How do I connect an AI assistant?
Open File ▸ AI Control…, turn the server on, and click Copy MCP Config. Paste that block into your AI app. The full walkthrough is in the technical details.
How do I report a bug?
Use the feedback form or email contact@bakingpowder.app. Say what happened and what you expected instead.
